10/11/10 Ever wondered what over 200 cat beds looks like?
Holly is a wonderful lady that every year makes new cat beds for us and another local shelter. She and her merry band of sewers have it down to a science. Every year we drive to Raleigh and meet her to pick them up. Thanks so much for all your hard work Holly!

ReplyDeleteLove to the kitties in your care!
Are there paterns available for these beds or are they done free hand. Would like to maybe start makng them for shelters and rescues in our area.
ReplyDeletePaurlray, they were made from a normal pattern, if you do a websearch for cat bed patterns you will find many. Here is one that I found that is similar to those in the picture
ReplyDeleteSIMPLICITY PATTERN 5233 CAT BEDS ONE SIZE
2 hints, sew across the bottom of the beds in an X pattern, (keeps the foam from folding up when you wash it and sew an extra stitch around the middle so the side foam does not fold up on you when you wash it... the ones Holly made hold up really well to washing because of the extra sewing she added to them... :)
Many PURRRS, (THANKS). The extra stitches are a brilliant idea. Hate straightening them after a wash. Some take quite a while.
